Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) made BIM a priority on the new Lions Gate Hospital Acute Care Tower. The new acute care facility replaces aging infrastructure and incorporates innovations to enable VCH to deliver the highest quality care possible.
As independent experts, we were able to provide oversight over the entire BIM process from procurement to handover.
We reviewed the RFP for design consultants to ensure there was no conflict with the BIM requirements and recommended changes and additions.
Throughout the project, we will complete model audits to help mitigate risk. Exposing the design, data, and potential issues early in the process supports quality control and provides confidence that the digital data can be used to drive downstream processes. Finally, we will ensure that the data is set up for transfer into VCH’s FMO solution – Maximo.
Summit has helped VCH ensure compliance with BIM requirements and with data and document collection to FMO over several projects including the Lions Gate Hospital – Power Plant and the Vancouver General Hospital – Operating Theaters.
